Chartreuse is a new art supply reuse shop in Franklinton, in downtown Columbus, on a mission to reclaim unused and excess art materials and get them into the hands of people who will use them. Every day, valuable supplies sit unused in studios, classrooms, and homes—Chartreuse exists to reduce that waste, recirculate materials, and make creative tools more accessible and affordable for the Columbus arts community.
While Columbus has art supply stores, they are not easily accessible to everyone, especially downtown. At the same time, many creatives have extra supplies they no longer need that is still in good condition. Chartreuse aims to bridge that gap by providing a convenient, community-driven resource where artists can donate, shop secondhand, and connect.
We are currently seeking funding to aid in our space rental, outfitting it with shelving, and support the operational time required to intake, price, and manage materials sustainably. Our goal is to operate with non-profit principles, ensuring that funds support the community, and bills incurred.
There is strong local enthusiasm for this kind of resource, and we’re excited to bring this vision to life in Columbus. Stay connected with us for updates, and thank you for supporting a more sustainable and accessible arts ecosystem.
